    Oak Mountain State Park is located off of I-65 and US-280. From Birmingham, take I-65 South to Valleydale Road (Exit 242). Follow Valleydale Road east to its intersection with Double Oak Lane, then follow the signs to the park. Alternatively, from US-280, turn onto Alabama 119 towards Pelham, then follow signs to the park. Parking is available throughout the park at various trailheads and attractions [5]. Parking fees are included in the park's entrance fee. A new entry gate off Highway 280 opened May 12, 2025, providing additional access and parking [10].
