Cheaha Wilderness: Alabama's Mountain Escape

Cheaha Wilderness, designated by Congress in 1983, encompasses 7,245 acres of rugged beauty within the Talladega National Forest in Alabama [2, 14]. Adjacent to Cheaha State Park, the wilderness offers a unique experience with its elevated terrain, panoramic views, and diverse recreational activities [8, 14]. The wilderness is best known for its section of the Pinhoti Trail, which stretches for approximately 10 miles across the area [14].
