The Hart House is located at 211 N Eufaula Ave in the Seth Lore-Irwinton Historic District. From the Eufaula Barbour Chamber of Commerce on E Broad Street, walk north on N Eufaula Ave for approximately 0.1 miles. The Hart House will be on your left. There is no admission fee.
Driving

From Lakepoint Resort State Park, head south on US-431 S/N Eufaula Ave for approximately 6 miles. The Hart House will be on your right. Limited street parking is available. There is no admission fee.

The Hart House, located at 211 N Eufaula Ave, is a significant historical landmark embodying the elegance of Greek Revival architecture. Constructed around 1850 by John Hart, a successful merchant and farmer from New Hampshire, the house reflects his prominence in the community.The one-story cottage features Doric columns, an entablature with dentils, and a central doorway framed by sidelights and a transom. These architectural details exemplify the pure Greek Revival style. The Hart House was one of only five Eufaula buildings recorded by the Historic American Building Survey in 1935. In 1973, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Seth Lore Historic District.The Historic Chattahoochee Commission purchased the building in 1985 and used it as its headquarters until 2016. Today, it serves as a visitor information center for the Chattahoochee Trace Region of Alabama and Georgia, welcoming visitors and providing insights into the area's heritage.
