Getting There

• Car

  From Cotton Bayou, head southwest on Cotton Bayou Drive toward AL-161. Turn left onto AL-161 S and continue for about 4 miles. Turn right onto Canal Road and follow it for approximately 2 miles. Then, turn left onto Alabama 180 W and continue for about 3 miles. Finally, turn right onto Orange Beach Blvd, and follow the signs to Long Bayou, which is located in Orange Beach, AL 36561. Make sure to check for parking availability near the bayou.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you can catch the local bus service that operates in the area. Look for the bus routes that head towards Orange Beach. You will need to transfer at the nearest major stop, usually in Gulf Shores, and then board a bus heading towards Orange Beach. Confirm the schedule ahead of time, as it may vary. The nearest bus stop to Long Bayou is on Orange Beach Blvd. After disembarking, it will be a short walk to reach the bayou.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Cotton Bayou. Start by cycling south on Cotton Bayou Drive, then take AL-161 S. Follow the same route as for cars, but be cautious of the traffic. The ride is approximately 9 miles and offers scenic views along the way. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local cycling regulations.

• Walking

  If you're nearby and wish to walk, head south on Cotton Bayou Drive towards the main road. It's advisable only for those within a mile or two of Long Bayou due to the distance, which is approximately 4 miles. Walk along the sidewalks and follow the directions for cars, using the same route via AL-161. Ensure to stay safe by walking during daylight hours and using crosswalks.
