Bloomin' Festival: A Celebration of Arts and Community

The Bloomin' Festival is a cherished tradition in Cullman, Alabama, held annually on the picturesque grounds of St. Bernard Abbey and Prep School. This vibrant arts and crafts fair, now in its 41st year (as of 2025), has grown into one of the top events in the Southeast, attracting over 25,000 visitors.Founded in 1984 to raise funds for St. Bernard Prep School, the festival showcases the handcrafted works of talented artisans and craftsmen from across the southeastern United States. Visitors can find unique items such as glass art, pottery, woodwork, jewelry, clothing, and edible treats. The festival also features live music, demonstrations, and a special kids' area, ensuring a fun-filled experience for the whole family.The festival's location on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey adds to its charm. The abbey, a Catholic monastery of Benedictine monks, provides a beautiful backdrop with its stone-cut buildings dating back to the early 1900s. Adjacent to the festival grounds is the Ave Maria Grotto, a world-famous, four-acre park featuring miniature replicas of famous religious structures and buildings. Festival attendees can enjoy reduced admission to the Grotto during the event.Proceeds from the Bloomin' Festival directly support the mission of St. Bernard Preparatory School, a co-educational boarding school for grades 9-12.
