Driving
Indian Shell Mound Park is located at 830 Desoto Dr, Dauphin Island, AL 36528. From the Dauphin Island bridge, follow AL-193 S/Bienville Blvd. Turn right onto Desoto Dr. The park will be on your right. Parking is free. Be aware that parking fees may be in effect at other beach access points on Dauphin Island, costing $10 per day during peak season (April 1 - Labor Day) and $5 per day during the off-season (post-Labor Day through March 31) [5, 12].
Ferry
If arriving via the Mobile Bay Ferry from Fort Morgan, follow AL-193 N/Bienville Blvd. Turn left onto Desoto Dr. The park will be on your right. The Mobile Bay Ferry connects Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island [4, 6, 11]. The ferry ride is approximately 40 minutes [6]. As of July 2025, ticket prices for the Mobile Bay Ferry are $16 for a car and driver, plus $4.50 for each additional passenger [6]. Adults without cars are $5 each [6].
Ride Share
Ride-sharing services like Uber and taxis are available on Dauphin Island, but may be limited [13, 18]. Expect potentially longer pickup times. Arrange transport to 830 Desoto Dr, Dauphin Island, AL 36528. Fares will vary depending on the distance and demand.
