The event is held the second Saturday of March and has grown into a popular community event.The event is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event, attracting both corporate and individual teams competing for awards in several categories. Festival goers can enjoy a variety of barbecue samples, live blues bands, and children's activities. All proceeds benefit the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation, supporting local education and community initiatives.Heritage Park, where the cook-off is held, is located at the intersection of Highway 98 and Highway 59. Besides the Foley BBQ & Blues Cook-Off, Heritage Park hosts various events throughout the year, including the Mudbugs & Margaritas Festival, Music and a Movie, and Christmas in the Park.
