Burritt on the Mountain, a unique museum of regional history, sits atop Round Top Mountain in Huntsville, Alabama. Once the estate of Dr. William Henry Burritt, who willed his home and land to the city in 1955, it now serves as an open-air museum. The museum's mission is to enhance lives and build community through educational, artistic, and recreational experiences while preserving the area's heritage, land, and historic structures. The centerpiece is the Burritt Mansion, a remarkable 14-room house built in the shape of an X in 1938. Its design incorporates elements of various periods and styles.
