Built in 1927 by Forrest and Zelma Tidwell, the 95-foot bridge is a fine example of a town lattice truss construction. Constructed over Dub Branch, the bridge has been a vital part of the community for nearly a century.The bridge is listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage since March 3, 1976, and on the National Register of Historic Places since August 20, 1981. The Easley Covered Bridge had been in continuous use until 2009, when it was closed due to safety concerns. However, it was reopened to motor vehicle traffic on October 22, 2012, after undergoing restoration. The total restoration costs for the covered bridges in Blount County was approximately $540,000.Today, the Easley Covered Bridge is a popular destination for those seeking a nostalgic experience. It is a reminder of a simpler time and a testament to the enduring quality of traditional construction methods.
