    From Spanish Fort, head north on AL-225 for approximately 4.5 miles. The park entrance will be on your left. Parking is available within the park. Admission is charged: $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12, and free for children under 6. Veterans and active-duty military are admitted free for individual day use.

    While there is no direct public transportation to the park entrance, you can take a Mobile Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) bus to Spanish Fort. The park is located on the site of the former town of Blakeley, a once-thriving port that rivaled Mobile in the early 19th century, and the location of the Battle of Fort Blakeley, one of the last major battles of the American Civil War.Visitors can explore the remnants of the ghost town of Blakeley, including the foundations of the courthouse and jail, and 'ghost structures' in Washington Square that outline the shapes of former homes and businesses. The Blakeley Cemetery offers a glimpse into the town's past, with burials dating back to the early 1800s.The park also preserves miles of Confederate and Union fortifications from the Battle of Fort Blakeley, which took place on April 9, 1865. This battle saw a large number of African-American troops fighting for the Union. Visitors can walk through the battlefield and learn about the strategies and struggles of the soldiers who fought here.Beyond its historical attractions, Historic Blakeley State Park boasts over 20 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails that wind through the diverse ecosystems of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta.
