    From downtown Huntsville, take Governors Drive (US-431) east. Turn left onto Monte Sano Boulevard and follow it to Nolen Avenue. Turn right onto Nolen Avenue, which leads directly into Monte Sano State Park. Parking is available throughout the park, including a dedicated hiker's parking lot. Be prepared to pay a day-use fee upon entry. The fee is $5 for adults (ages 12+), $2 for children (ages 4-11) and seniors (62+). Active military personnel get a discounted rate of $2. Parking for special events, such as the Monte Sano Art Festival, may have a different fee structure ($10 per car).

    While walking to Monte Sano Mountain is possible, it's a significant trek from downtown Huntsville. A more practical approach is to take a taxi or ride-sharing service to one of the trailheads at the base of the mountain, such as the Bankhead Trailhead. From there, you can access the Land Trust trails and begin your ascent. Keep in mind that the walk to the summit involves steep inclines.
