Getting There

  • Car

    From Monte Sano State Park, start by exiting the park via Monte Sano Blvd. Turn left onto Governors Drive SE (AL-53) and continue for about 3 miles. Merge onto I-565 W via the ramp on the left toward Decatur. Stay on I-565 W for approximately 5 miles. Take exit 19C for US-231 S towards Huntsville. Continue on US-231 S for about 2 miles. Finally, turn left onto Tranquility Base, and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center will be on your left at 1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805.

  • Public Transportation

    From Monte Sano State Park, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest bus station as there is no direct public transportation from the park. The closest bus station is the Huntsville Transit Center. Once at the transit center, you can take the Route 1 bus towards University Drive, which will take you towards the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Get off at the stop nearest to Tranquility Base and walk to the center. Ensure to check the bus schedule for timings and frequency.
