Driving
From Jackson's Gap, head north on AL-22 for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto County Road 77 and continue for about 4 miles. Look for signs indicating the Smith Mountain Fire Tower. Parking is available at the base of the mountain. From the parking area, it's a moderate hike to the tower. Parking is free.
Walking
If you are staying in accommodations closer to the base of Smith Mountain, follow County Road 77 until you reach the designated parking area for the Smith Mountain Fire Tower Trail.
