    From the Alabama State Capitol, head southwest on Dexter Avenue toward Court Street. Continue for approximately 0.4 miles. The Rosa Parks Museum will be on your left, across the street from the Rosa Parks Bus Stop historical marker. The walk is generally flat and takes about 8-10 minutes. Be mindful of traffic at intersections. There are no costs associated with walking.

    The Montgomery Area Transit System (MATS) has several bus routes that stop near the Rosa Parks Museum complex. From the Intermodal Center, located a few blocks away at 495 Molton Street , take any MATS route that services downtown Montgomery. Get off at a stop on Montgomery Street near the Troy University campus. From there, the Museum is a short walk. A single ride on MATS costs $1.25.

  • Driving

    If driving, approach the museum via I-85 or US-82. From I-85, take the Union Street exit and follow signs to downtown. From US-82, follow the signs to downtown Montgomery. The museum is located on Montgomery Street. Free parking is available in Troy University Montgomery parking lots. Metered street parking is also available; meters are enforced weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and cost approximately $1 per hour. Free parking is available on weekends, holidays, and evenings.
