To reach Bankhead National Forest from any location in the Wiregrass Region, start by getting onto US-231 N. Follow US-231 N for approximately 50 miles until you reach the junction with I-85 N. Merge onto I-85 N and continue for about 30 miles. Then take exit 1A to merge onto I-65 N toward Birmingham. After about 50 miles, take exit 299 for US-278 W toward Cullman. Continue on US-278 W for about 30 miles. In the town of Double Springs, turn left onto AL-33 S. After about 4 miles, you will arrive at Bankhead National Forest located at 1070 AL-33, Double Springs, AL 35553. Parking is available, and there is no entrance fee.
