    From Berat city center, near the Osumi River, follow Rruga Mihal Komena, a cobblestone path leading uphill towards the castle entrance. The walk is approximately 1 km and takes about 15-20 minutes at a moderate pace. Be aware that the path is steep and can be slippery when wet, so wear appropriate footwear. There is a shortcut available about halfway up the road, though it's a steep, zig-zagging climb. No costs involved.

    Local buses depart from the bus terminal in Berat to the castle entrance. Ask locals for the current bus schedule and confirm the route to 'Kalaja' (the Castle). The bus fare is approximately 150 Lek (€1.50).
