Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës, or the Tomb of Kapllan Pasha, is a significant historical landmark located in the center of Tirana, Albania. Constructed in 1817, this Muslim türbe (tomb) is dedicated to Kapllan Pasha, who governed Tirana in the early 19th century. The tomb is a Cultural Monument of the first category, recognized by the Albanian government in 1948.The tomb's octagonal shape and carved stone construction reflect the architectural styles of the Ottoman era. Eight stone columns support arches adorned with stylized Corinthian capitals featuring plant motifs. These columns rest on octagonal-shaped stone bases. Originally, the tomb was part of a larger cemetery complex associated with Tirana's first mosque, the Sylejman Pasha Mosque. This complex included six similar monumental tombs; however, they were destroyed during World War II, leaving Kapllan Pasha's tomb as the sole survivor.Kapllan Pasha was initially interred here, but his remains were later moved to Istanbul, Turkey. Although the tomb is now empty, it remains a powerful reminder of Tirana's layered history and Ottoman heritage. The Municipality of Tirana has restored the tomb, ensuring its preservation for future generations. Today, Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës stands in contrast to the modern buildings surrounding it, offering visitors a glimpse into the city's past.
