From Gjirokastër, head to the local bus station, which is located near the center of the city. Look for buses heading towards Himarë. The buses typically leave every hour. Purchase your ticket at the counter or from the driver. The bus ride will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Himarë bus station, you will need to walk towards the beach for about 15-20 minutes. Follow the signs towards Plazhi i Himarës, which will lead you to the beach area.

Shared Taxi
From Gjirokastër, you can find shared taxis (also known as 'furgons') that go to Himarë. These can be found at the main taxi stand. Make sure to confirm that the taxi is going to Himarë before boarding. The journey will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Himarë taxi drop-off point, walk straight towards the beach area, which is about a 15-20 minute walk. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Plazhi i Himarës.

If you are adventurous and would like to walk from Gjirokastër to Himarë, prepare for a long trek of approximately 30 kilometers. Start your journey early in the morning to avoid the heat. Follow the main road (SH4) south towards Himarë. The route will have beautiful views, but be cautious of traffic. Once you reach Himarë, head towards the beach area, which should take around 20 minutes from the main road.
