Discover more about Filikuri Beach

Filikuri Beach (Gjiri i Filikurit) is a captivating, secluded bay located a few kilometers south of Himarë, along the Albanian Riviera. This hidden paradise is characterized by its pristine, pebbled shore and crystal-clear turquoise waters, embraced by rugged cliffs and headlands. The beach's unspoiled beauty and tranquil atmosphere offer a serene escape from the more crowded tourist spots. Unlike many other beaches in the area, Filikuri Beach remains largely undeveloped, adding to its natural charm. There are no permanent facilities or refreshment stands, so it's essential to bring your own supplies. The beach is accessible by foot, boat, or kayak, each offering a unique approach to this coastal haven. Walking to Filikuri Beach involves a scenic coastal path from Potami Beach, with a final descent that can be steep and may require the use of a rope. Alternatively, renting a boat or kayak from Himarë or Potami Beach provides a more relaxed and picturesque journey. The beach is known for its cooler waters due to nearby cold springs, and the lack of commercial beach chairs contributes to its natural feel.

    Getting There

    Walking

From the center of Himarë, walk south towards Potami Beach. Follow the paved path behind Oniro by Iliria Palace Hotel, which curves around the headland. Continue on the dirt trail, keeping right at the fork towards the cliff edge. The final descent to Filikuri Beach is steep and requires caution. Note that there are no costs associated with walking to the beach.

    Boat/Water Taxi

Arrange a water taxi from Himarë to Filikuri Beach. Himare Water Taxi offers trips for around €10 per person. Alternatively, you can rent a kayak from Himarë's promenade for approximately €5 per hour or €40 for the day. Consider wind and wave conditions before kayaking.

    Driving/Walking

Drive towards the southern end of Potami Beach where the asphalt road ends. Park along Potami Beach to avoid the narrow, rocky road leading to the headland. From the parking area, walk approximately 800m (25 minutes) along the coastal path to Filikuri Beach. Be aware that parking is limited and can be chaotic during peak season. Parking is free along Potami Beach.
