Constructed in 1817, the tomb is dedicated to Kapllan Pasha, who governed Tirana in the early 19th century. Originally, it was part of a larger cemetery complex associated with Tirana's first mosque, the Sylejman Pasha Mosque, which was destroyed during World War II. The tomb is not to be confused with the Suleyman Pasha Tomb.Of the original six monumental tombs in the complex, Kapllan Pasha's is the only one remaining. The tomb features a distinctive octagonal shape, with eight carved stone columns resting on stone bases and topped with plant motif capitals. These columns support arches, showcasing the craftsmanship of the era.Kapllan Pasha was initially buried here, but his remains were later moved to Istanbul, Turkey. The tomb has been restored over the years and stands in contrast to the modern buildings surrounding it, serving as a reminder of Tirana's layered history.
