The Reconciliation Tower, or Kulla e Pajtimit, in the village of Theth, is a significant historical structure that embodies Albania's cultural heritage. The Kanun of Lekë Dukagjini, a set of oral traditional Albanian laws, governed life in this region, and the tower played a crucial role in maintaining order. In cases of blood feuds or serious crimes, the accused would be confined within the tower for a period, allowing elders to mediate and seek reconciliation between conflicting parties.The tower's architecture is characterized by its stone construction, small windows (frëngji), and defensive features, reflecting the need for protection in a turbulent past. Inside, visitors can see the simple furnishings that highlight the tower's function as both a refuge and a place of imprisonment.Today, the Reconciliation Tower is a museum and a major tourist attraction in Theth.
