Walking
From Berat city center, begin your final approach to Berat Castle from the suspension bridge. Follow the road that veers to the right onto Rruga Mihal Komena, a cobblestone path that ascends toward the castle's main entrance. The walk is approximately 1 km and takes about 15-20 minutes. Be prepared for a steep incline and uneven surfaces, so wear appropriate footwear.
Driving
If driving, follow the same route as walking, heading towards Rruga Mihal Komena from the city center. The drive is short, but the road is steep and winding. There is a small, free parking lot near the entrance gate, but it can fill up quickly, especially during peak season. Parking on surrounding streets may be available, but be respectful of local residents and adhere to any parking signs.
Public Transport
Local buses depart from Berat's bus terminal, located on the opposite side of the city. These buses travel to the castle entrance. Ask locals for the bus schedule and confirm the route to Berat Castle. A bus ticket to the castle costs approximately €1.5.
