Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Saranda, take the local bus (furgon) from the bus stop near the ferry terminal. Buses depart approximately every 30 minutes between 7:30 AM and 7 PM. The journey takes around 30-45 minutes and costs 200 Lek. Pay the conductor on board.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are available from both Saranda and Ksamil. A taxi from Ksamil to Butrint costs approximately 700-1500 Lek. A taxi from Saranda will cost around 3000-5000 Lek. Agree on the price with the driver before starting the journey.

  • Car

    Drive south from Ksamil on the SH81. The journey takes about 15 minutes. There is a large car park near the entrance. Parking may be free, but during peak season, an attendant may collect a fee. Alternatively, from the south, a cable ferry (Transbordeur de Butrint) crosses the Vivari canal. The ferry costs 700 Lek per car.
