To reach Lapidari via public transport from Tirana, take bus line L5 to Sauk I Vjeter. From the Sauk I Vjeter stop, it's approximately a 5-minute walk to Rruga Selim Brahja. The bus ride typically costs around 100 Lek. From there, follow local roads and paths towards the hills. The final ascent involves a walk or taxi ride up the hill to the monument. Bus fare: 100 Lek.

For those inclined to walk, the hike to Lapidari from the Universiteti Barleti area takes about an hour and is steep in some sections. From the British School, the walk to Lapidari takes approximately 45 minutes. Follow the roads and paths leading uphill towards the monument. Walking: Free.

Overview

Lapidari, situated on the Selita-Sauk hills, stands as a landmark memorializing Albania's Partisans. Easily accessible from Sauk, the monument provides a serene escape with striking views of Tirana, both day and night.The monument commemorates the actions of the Third Assault Brigade, who targeted a Nazi collaborator meeting during World War II. On October 18, 1944, Partisan artillery fired from this location, disrupting the meeting. Today, visitors can explore the historical site, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the scenery.The area around Lapidari is also suitable for hiking and biking. The paths to the monument offer a relatively easy hike, appealing to amateur hikers. Along the way, it's possible to spot Hermann's tortoises.
