Constructed in the early 19th century (circa 1817) , this Muslim türbe (tomb) is a remnant of the Ottoman period in Albania. It was built for Kapllan Pasha, who ruled Tirana in the early 19th century.Originally, the tomb was part of a larger complex associated with Tirana's first mosque, the Sylejman Pasha Mosque, which was destroyed during World War II. The complex included six similar monumental tombs, but Kapllan Pasha's is the only one that survives today. The tomb has an octagonal shape with carved stones and features eight stone columns with plant motifs. Kapllan Pasha was initially buried here, but his remains were later moved to Istanbul, Turkey.Today, Tyrbja e Kapllan Pashës stands in contrast to the modern buildings surrounding it, serving as a reminder of Tirana's layered history. It is considered a Cultural Monument of the first category by the Albanian government.
