Discover more about Waterfall Theth

Waterfall Theth, also known as Grunas Waterfall, is one of the most captivating natural attractions within Theth National Park. Declared a natural monument in 2002, this pristine waterfall is located on the western slope of the Thethi valley, within the Albanian Alps. The water originates from the western foot of the Boshi mountain peak, forming a narrow, rocky trough before plunging from a height of 25 to 30 meters. The base of the waterfall features a natural pond with emerald waters, adding to the allure of the landscape. The surrounding slope is covered in dense forest, creating a cool and shady environment. On sunny days, the mist from the waterfall often creates a beautiful rainbow at the bottom of the cascade. The hike to Grunas Waterfall is a rewarding experience, offering stunning views of the valley, vegetation, and towering mountain peaks. The trail from Theth village typically takes around 45 minutes to an hour, with the final section involving a moderately steep uphill climb. The path is well-marked, making it relatively easy to follow. While the water is cold due to its source being melted snow, some visitors brave the chill for a quick dip in the pool at the waterfall's base.
