Kakoma Beach: A Hidden Albanian Riviera Paradise

Kakoma Beach (Plazhi i Kakomesë) is a hidden gem located approximately 13 kilometers north of Sarandë, Albania, along the stunning Albanian Riviera. This secluded beach is nestled in Kakome Bay, offering a tranquil escape reminiscent of Thailand's Maya Bay. The beach is surrounded by untouched greenery and dramatic cliffs, enhancing its natural allure. Kakoma Beach is known for its breathtaking beauty and clean, turquoise waters, ideal for swimming and relaxation. A pier provides a spot for jumping into the refreshing sea. The beach's secluded location offers a peaceful atmosphere, even during the summer months. While a resort was initially planned for the area, the project was abandoned, leaving the area largely undeveloped. Access to Kakoma Beach is somewhat limited, contributing to its tranquil environment. The most common way to reach the beach is by boat from Sarandë. Beyond the beach itself, adventurous visitors can explore the abandoned Monastery of Saint Mary, located on a hill near Kakome Bay. A short hike from the end of the road leading to the beach will take you to the monastery, offering panoramic views of Kakome Bay and the neighboring Krorëza Beach.
