Mali i Lekuresit: A Majestic Mountain Peak Overlooking the Adriatic

Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Saranda, head towards the waterfront promenade, known as 'Shëtitorja'. Walk along the promenade until you reach the end where it meets 'Rruga Kater I Tetor'. Turn right onto this road and continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by several cafes and shops. Look for signs directing you towards Mali i Lekuresit. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with 'Rruga e Bregut'. At this point, you will see a steep path leading uphill to your left that is marked for Mali i Lekuresit. Follow this path, which may be a bit challenging but well worth it, as it leads directly to the viewpoint.

• Hiking

  If you are looking for a more adventurous route, you can start from the outskirts of the city. Begin your hike from the area around 'Rruga e Flamurit', where you can find local trails leading up the mountain. This route may take longer, approximately 1.5 hours, but offers beautiful scenery and a chance to explore the local flora and fauna. Make sure to bring water and wear good hiking shoes, as the terrain can be uneven.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  For those preferring to use public transport, you can take a local bus from the main bus station in Saranda. Look for buses marked 'Mali i Lekuresit' or 'Lekursi'. The bus will take you partway up the mountain. When you arrive at the designated stop, disembark and follow the signposts that indicate the walking path to Mali i Lekuresit. The bus ride usually lasts about 15-20 minutes, followed by a short walk to reach the viewpoint.
