Kalaja e Lëkurësit (Lëkurësit Castle) is perched on a strategic hill overlooking Sarandë, offering breathtaking views of the town, the Ionian Sea, and the island of Corfu. Built in 1537 by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent, the castle was constructed to protect the region from Venetian invasion and control the harbor of Saranda and the road to Butrint. The castle's almost square shape features two round towers at opposite corners. The best-preserved sections are the southern and eastern sides.
