Walking
The final leg of your journey to Ujëvara e Gjanve involves hiking. From the center of Vermosh, the walk begins and primarily travels along the main asphalt road that services Vermosh. Approximately 1.3km from the main village, on the right-hand side will be a small gravel road that veers off into the woods. Follow this trail until you reach the waterfall. The hike from Vermosh takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Be prepared for some uneven terrain.
Public Transport
To reach Ujëvara e Gjanve using public transportation, take a local bus or shared taxi from Shkodra to Vermosh. Once you arrive in Vermosh, you will need to ask locals for directions to Ujëvara e Gjanve, as public transport does not go directly there. You will need to hike from Vermosh to Ujëvara e Gjanve, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Be prepared for some uneven terrain and bring water and snacks for the hike. A minibus leaves from the Malësia e Madhe restaurant in Shkodër at 14:00 for Vermosh (also passing through Selcë and Tamarë)e, returning at 5:00).
Car
If you are driving, start from the main road in Kelmendi and head northwest on the main road (SH20) towards Vermosh. After approximately 10 kilometers, look for signs directing you towards Ujëvara e Gjanve. Turn onto the road leading to Përroi i Gjanve. The waterfall is located about 5 kilometers down this road. Parking is available near the waterfall site, but space may be limited during peak tourist seasons. Road conditions in Albania and the Alps are excellent and navigation is super easy.
