The Cloud, or 'Reja' as it is known locally, stands as a captivating piece of modern art in the heart of Tirana, Albania. Designed by the acclaimed Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, this installation has become a symbol of the city's contemporary identity. Since its arrival in 2016, The Cloud has served as a dynamic venue for cultural events and a unique public space for both locals and tourists.Originally created for the Serpentine Gallery in London in 2013, The Cloud found its permanent home in front of Tirana's National Gallery of Arts. The structure is crafted from a delicate network of white steel rods, forming a semi-transparent, irregular canopy that evokes the form of a cloud. This design allows visitors to walk through and under the structure, creating an immersive experience that blurs the lines between art and the surrounding urban environment.The Cloud spans approximately 541 square meters, with a maximum height of 7 meters. The installation includes stepped terraces that provide seating areas, making it a flexible space for exhibitions, workshops, and performances. During the warmer months, The Cloud transforms into an atmospheric stage for musicians and theatrical performances, enhancing Tirana's vibrant cultural scene.
