    If driving from Algiers, take the A1 highway towards Blida. Continue on the A1 until you reach Blida, then follow signs towards Chrea National Park. The park is approximately 50 km southwest of Blida. The drive from Blida takes about 1.5 hours. Expect a small entrance fee in Algerian Dinars.

Chrea National Park, located in the Blida Province of northern Algeria, is a captivating destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Established in 1985, the park spans approximately 260 square kilometers within the Tell Atlas Mountains. The park's diverse landscape features steep slopes, deep valleys and peaks reaching over 2,000 meters, offering scenic views of the Mediterranean coastline from higher elevations.Chrea is renowned for its dense Atlas cedar forests, some of the oldest wooded areas in Algeria, providing habitat for a variety of wildlife. The park is home to over 1,200 plant and animal species, including the Barbary macaque, one of the last remaining wild monkey populations in North Africa. Birdlife is abundant, with eagles, hawks, and owls commonly sighted.Visitors can explore well-marked hiking trails that wind through the ancient cedar forests. In winter, Chrea transforms into a snowy wonderland, becoming one of the few places in Algeria where skiing is possible. The park also holds historical and cultural significance and is classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
