Botanical Garden Hamma: Algiers' Green Oasis

The French Garden features a majestic avenue lined with palm trees and a classical design. The English Garden offers a more natural and free-flowing landscape with a large pond. The Arboretum contains hundreds of tree species, including conifers, eucalyptus, and sequoias.Visitors can explore thematic sections featuring Mediterranean, tropical, and desert plants. The garden also houses a small zoo with various animals, providing an engaging experience for children and families. With shady benches scattered throughout, it's an ideal spot for relaxation and picnics.The Botanical Garden Hamma has faced challenges throughout its history, including damage during World War II and closure during Algeria's civil war. However, it has been restored and reopened, now drawing over 900,000 visitors annually. It also hosts educational programs, with thousands of schoolchildren participating each year. The garden is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM.
