The Sidi Rached Bridge is one of Constantine's most iconic landmarks. Constructed between 1907 and 1912 under French colonial supervision, it was designed to link Constantine's city center with the train station area, facilitating trade and transport. The bridge stretches 447 meters and features 27 majestic arches that cross the Rhumel Valley. Its construction was a significant technical challenge due to the rugged terrain and deep gorges.The bridge was designed by engineer Aubin Eyraud, with Paul Séjourné completing the construction. Upon its inauguration in 1912, the Sidi Rached Bridge was celebrated as an architectural marvel, briefly holding the title of the tallest concrete bridge in the world. Each arch is designed to withstand the strong winds of the Rhumel Valley, with the highest arch reaching 70 meters. Built from local stone, the bridge blends seamlessly with Constantine's rocky landscape.Today, the Sidi Rached Bridge offers visitors a stunning panoramic view of Constantine and the Rhumel Gorge.
