Housed in one of Escaldes-Engordany's most historically significant buildings, the Centre d'Art d'Escaldes-Engordany (CAEE) offers a rich cultural experience. The building itself, constructed between 1932 and 1934 by the monks of Montserrat under the direction of Catalan architect Celestí Gusí, is a prime example of Andorran granite architecture.Originally built as a car park for the Hotel Valira and the site of the former school, the building later became Andorra's first cinema, the Cine Valira. Today, the CAEE is a vibrant space with a diverse cultural program, featuring activities for all ages. The CAEE is home to two permanent collections: sculptures by Catalan artist Josep Viladomat, showcasing the Noucentisme style with bronze, marble, and plaster works, and a collection of Romanesque art miniatures.
