Discover more about Museum of Miniature

Venture into the captivating world of the Museum of Miniature, nestled in the Andorran town of Ordino. This unique museum is home to the exquisite works of Nikolai Siadristy, a Ukrainian artist celebrated as one of the greatest miniaturists of our time. Prepare to be amazed by art that demands a closer look—literally. Siadristy's microminiatures are so small that they can only be appreciated through microscopes, which magnify the artwork up to 300 times. These aren't just small creations; they're mind-boggling feats of artistry, crafted from materials ranging from gold and platinum to humble paper, fruit seeds, and even grains of rice. The museum displays around 14 of Siadristy's pieces, each representing years of meticulous work. Examples include a caravan of camels in the eye of a needle, and the world's smallest autograph on a human hair. Beyond Siadristy's work, the museum also showcases the artistry of Chinese artist Liu Shouben, a Grandmaster of Beijing, with a collection of 5cm-long 'snuff-bottles' painted with Andorran motifs. You'll find familiar characters, landscapes, and monuments from Andorra, alongside international landmarks like the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell. The museum also features traditional Russian Matryoshka dolls and papier-mâché boxes from Moscow schools, adding to the diverse collection of miniature wonders. It's a reminder that art can exist in the most unexpected forms and that sometimes, the greatest wonders are found in the smallest packages.
