Dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries, the church showcases the typical architectural layout of Andorran Romanesque churches, featuring a rectangular nave with a wooden roof, a semicircular apse, and a distinctive Lombard-style bell tower.Inside, visitors can view the remains of a 12th-century stucco Romanesque Majesty, surrounded by a mural depicting the crucifixion with Longinus and Stephanus, accompanied by the sun and moon. Behind the altar, a 16th-century altarpiece of high artistic quality displays influences of the Italian and German Renaissance, illustrating scenes from the life and martyrdom of Saint John, the church's patron saint.Over the centuries, the church has undergone transformations, including the addition of two porches in the 15th and 16th centuries. The surrounding area includes the remains of an ancient medieval cemetery, adding to the site's historical and spiritual atmosphere.
