Discover more about Museu Casa Rull

Step back in time at Museu Casa Rull, a captivating house museum in Sispony that provides a window into Andorra's rural heritage. Originally built in the 17th century, Casa Rull was home to the Rull family, later becoming prominent through the Perich family, wealthy merchants who married into the Rulls. The house showcases the lives of landowning farmers, known locally as *pagesos grassos*, and their contributions to Andorran society. The museum is spread across multiple levels, including a basement, ground floor, two upper floors, and an attic, each meticulously furnished to reflect daily life around the turn of the 20th century. Visitors can explore the cellar, storerooms, and a kitchen complete with a bread oven. The dining room and bedrooms offer a glimpse into the family's living spaces, including an intriguing "death and vigil" room. The attic, once used for drying fruits, herbs, and tobacco, provides insight into the self-sufficient lifestyle of the past. Casa Rull suffered a fire in the late 19th century, which destroyed much of the wooden structure, but the robust stone walls endured. It was rebuilt in its traditional style, and in 2000, the Andorran government transformed it into a museum. Today, Museu Casa Rull is part of Andorra's Rural Habitat Itinerary, offering guided tours, audio guides in multiple languages, and educational workshops. The museum also hosts rotating exhibitions by local artists in its ticket office area.
