The Pont de la Tosca is a charming stone bridge located in the parish of Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra. Constructed in 1820, it replaced a previous wooden bridge and became an important crossing point over the Riu Madriu, a tributary of the Valira d'Orient river.This bridge, with its single, semi-circular arch made entirely of stone, stands as a testament to Andorran heritage. Rising 10 meters above the riverbed, the bridge's silhouette is so iconic that it's featured on the Escaldes-Engordany parish coat of arms. The bridge is relatively small, with a length of 7 meters, and features a cobbled causeway and a small wall.Historically, the Pont de la Tosca was a crucial passage for farmers and herders transporting goods and livestock to the Andorra la Vella fair. It also connected the lower parishes of Andorra-la-Vella and Escaldes-Engordany with the higher parishes of Canillo and Encamp. In 2003, it was declared a historical monument. Today, the Pont de la Tosca is a scenic attraction, inviting visitors to appreciate the natural beauty of the Andorran Pyrenees and explore hiking trails in the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
