Sant Miquel Engolasters: A Serene Sanctuary in the Andorran Mountains

Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the center of Encamp, near the Church of Sant Romà. Head southeast on Carrer de la Unió towards Carrer de la Valira. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Av. de François Mitterrand. Turn left onto Av. de François Mitterrand and follow it until you see the signs pointing towards Engolasters. As you walk, you will pass local shops and cafes where you can grab a snack. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the bus stop for the Engolasters route.

• Bus

  At the bus stop, take the L-1 bus heading towards Engolasters. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views of the mountains along the way. Get off at the 'Engolasters' stop. Once you disembark, follow the signs directing you towards Sant Miquel Engolasters. It is about a 20-minute uphill walk from the bus stop, so wear comfortable shoes. The path will lead you through beautiful natural surroundings.

• Walking

  After getting off the bus, head up the pathway that starts just next to the bus stop. Follow the marked trail leading to Sant Miquel. The trail is well-maintained, but be prepared for some steep sections. Along the way, you will see stunning views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. The total distance from the bus stop to the church is roughly 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for directional signs to ensure you are on the right path.
