    From Cortals d'Encamp, follow the well-marked 'Camí de Brigal' (red marks). Walk towards the river and continue to the refuge. The hike takes approximately 2 hours with a 480-meter elevation gain. Starting point is accessible by car or bus.

    Take the L2 bus from Andorra la Vella to Encamp. From Encamp, take a taxi or the park and ride shuttle to Cortals d'Encamp, the starting point for the hike to the refuge. Bus fare is approximately €1.90. Taxi from Encamp to Cortals d'Encamp is approximately €8.45.

The Refugi d'Ensagents, inaugurated in 1981, is a welcoming, unguarded mountain refuge situated at 2,425 meters above sea level in the picturesque Ensagents Valley of Andorra. This simple yet essential shelter offers a respite for hikers and mountaineers exploring the region's numerous trails and peaks. Inside the refuge, visitors will find two rooms: a smaller space with a fireplace, traditionally used by shepherds, and a larger room equipped with tables, benches, metal bunk beds, and a wood stove. The refuge can accommodate up to 14 people, providing basic overnight shelter. Outside, barbecue facilities and a water source are available, enhancing the appeal for those looking to enjoy a meal amidst the stunning natural surroundings. The refuge is open year-round, offering shelter in all seasons. While unguarded, it typically receives maintenance during the summer months, including cleaning, firewood stocking, and first-aid kit replenishment. Mobile phone coverage is available in the area. The Refugi d'Ensagents serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area, with numerous hiking trails nearby, including routes to the Estanys (lakes) d'Ensagents, Alt del Griu peak, and Coll de Pessons. The refuge is also a key point on longer treks, such as the GRP d'Andorra and routes within the Madriu-Perafita-Claror Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
