Refugi de Francolí: A Serene Escape in Nature

Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from the center of Sant Julià de Lòria, head east on Carrer de la Unió towards Avinguda del Montserat. Take a left onto Avinguda del Montserat and follow it until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the CG-1 road towards Andorra la Vella. After about 5 kilometers, look for signs for Refugi de Francolí. You'll need to take a turn onto a smaller road leading into the hills. Follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers, and you will find Refugi de Francolí on your right. Ensure you have a GPS or map handy, as some smaller roads can be a bit tricky to navigate.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start at the main bus station in Sant Julià de Lòria. Take the bus route towards Andorra la Vella. You will need to get off at the stop 'Ctra. de la Comella' which is approximately 15 minutes away. From the bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 2 kilometers uphill to reach Refugi de Francolí. Follow the signs for hiking trails in the area. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited, especially on weekends.

• Walking

  If you're already in the vicinity of the hiking trails, you can reach Refugi de Francolí on foot. From Sant Julià de Lòria, head towards the hiking trails starting near the church of Sant Julià de Lòria. Follow the marked trails, which will lead you into the hills. It's approximately a 4-kilometer hike, and the trails are well marked. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry water, as it can be steep in some sections.
