Walking
The most common approach is from Cortals d'Encamp. From there, follow the well-marked 'Camí de Brigal' (red marks) for approximately 2 hours, ascending 480 meters. The trail leads to the Ensagents River, which you'll follow to the refuge.

From Andorra la Vella, take the L2 bus towards Encamp. From Encamp, you can take the Funibus, a free bus service, around Encamp to the Funicamp gondola. From the top of Funicamp, you can hike to Refugi d'Ensagents. Bus L2 runs every 15-20 minutes on weekdays. A single bus fare within Encamp is approximately €2.

From Encamp, a taxi to the starting point of the hiking trail (Cortals d'Encamp) will cost approximately €24-€29 and takes about 9 minutes. From there, follow the 'Camí de Brigal' trail on foot.

The Refugi d'Ensagents is a welcoming, unguarded mountain refuge situated at 2,425 meters altitude in the picturesque Ensagents Valley of Encamp, Andorra. Inaugurated in 1981, this simple stone and wood structure provides essential shelter for hikers exploring the surrounding trails.
The refuge features two rooms: a smaller space with a fireplace, traditionally used by shepherds, and a larger area equipped with tables, benches, metal bunk beds, and a wood stove. While the refuge has a capacity of 14 places, it is not guarded, so visitors should come prepared. A spring provides water just a few meters from the refuge.
Surrounded by open landscapes and lush vegetation, the Refugi d'Ensagents offers access to hiking trails, including routes to the Coll de Pessons and the Refugi de l'Illa. The area is known for its natural beauty and tranquility. Mobile phone coverage is available at the refuge.
