Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from Lubango city center. Head east on the main road (Estrada da Tundavala). Continue on this road for approximately 13 kilometers. You will see signs pointing to Tundavala Gap. As you approach, the road will become more scenic, offering glimpses of the valley below. Keep an eye out for parking areas where you can leave your car before walking to the viewpoint.

• Taxi

  For those not driving, consider hiring a taxi from Lubango. Taxis are available around the city center. Agree on a fare before the trip; it should cost between 3000 to 5000 Kwanza depending on your negotiating skills and the time of day. The taxi will take you directly to the Tundavala Gap viewpoint. Ensure the driver understands your destination, as not all drivers may be familiar with the area.

• Public Transportation

  Public transport options include shared minibus taxis (known as 'chapa'). From Lubango, you can catch a chapa heading towards Tundavala. They usually depart from central locations, such as the main bus station or designated stops around the city. The fare is generally around 1000 Kwanza per person. Please note that these minibuses may not run on a strict schedule and can be crowded. Inform the driver of your destination to ensure you disembark at the appropriate stop.

• Walking

  Once you reach the parking area or your drop-off point, the final stretch to Tundavala Gap may require some walking. Follow the signs directing you to the viewpoint. The path is generally well-marked and safe for tourists. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the walk can be steep in some sections.
