The vegetation includes acacia and baobab trees, as well as mopane and marula forests. The park is home to various animal species, including lions, leopards, hyenas, and a wide variety of birdlife. Mupa was initially established to protect the Giraffa camelopardalis angolensis, an Angolan giraffe subspecies. However, by 1974, the giraffe population was decimated. The park is also a haven for birdwatchers, with a significant variety of avifauna. Visitors can enjoy wildlife observation, hiking, birdwatching, and simply immersing themselves in the tranquility of the Angolan wilderness.     Mupa National Park is accessible by car from Lubango. Take the EN280 road towards Menongue, then continue towards Caiundo. From Caiundo, follow local signs or ask locals for directions to the park. Be prepared for rough, unpaved roads; a sturdy vehicle is recommended. There are no toll roads on the way to Mupa National Park. Parking is available near the park entrance. It is advisable to fill your gas tank in larger towns as gas stations can be sparse. Hiring a local guide may cost around AOA 5,000-10,000 per day.

    To reach Mupa National Park via public transport, take a bus from Luanda to Menongue. From Menongue, take a local minibus or taxi to Caiundo. In Caiundo, arrange for local transportation or a guide to take you to the park. Be prepared for longer travel times and potential delays.
