From the airport, follow the main road west towards the West End. The drive to Cove Pond is approximately 15 minutes. Note that you will need to purchase a temporary Anguillian driver's license for $28. Driving is on the left-hand side of the road.

    If you are staying at Belmond Cap Juluca, Cove Pond is easily accessible by foot. From the hotel lobby, walk along the main entrance road, crossing the causeway that divides the pond. The pond will be on either side of you. There is no fee to walk around the pond.

Cove Pond, a 106-acre wetland located on the southwestern end of Anguilla, presents a tranquil retreat for nature lovers. Once linked to Merrywing Pond and Gull Pond, it now consists of two basins divided by the road to Belmond Cap Juluca Resort. This picturesque pond is enveloped by lush greenery, offering a habitat for various bird species and a peaceful environment for visitors. Cove Pond is an Important Bird Area (IBA), providing nesting, resting, and feeding habitat for over 40 bird species. Birdwatchers can spot resident species like Killdeer, Wilson's, and Snowy Plovers throughout the year, with nesting activity peaking in the spring and summer. Least Terns also nest here from April to August. Migratory birds, such as Black-bellied and Semipalmated Plovers, visit during the spring and fall. Keep an eye out for Yellow-crowned Night Herons, Ospreys, Green-throated Carib Hummingbirds, and Lesser Antillean Bullfinches. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks around the pond, soaking in the calming sights and sounds of this natural haven. It's an ideal spot for picnics, photography, and reconnecting with nature. Despite hurricane damage over the years, Cove Pond continues to attract a diverse range of species.
