Sandy Ground Beach, located in one of Anguilla's fourteen districts, is more than just a picturesque shoreline; it's the island's main port and a vibrant center of activity. Situated on the northern coast, the beach boasts a long, curved stretch of golden sand bordered by calm, shallow waters, making it ideal for swimming and wading. The bay is framed by rolling green hills and a disused salt pond, Road Salt Pond, which provides a habitat for various bird species.Historically, Sandy Ground played a significant role in Anguilla's salt production and seafaring past. The nearby Pumphouse, now a popular bar, once served as a mill for refining salt mined from the Road Salt Pond.
