Discover more about Katouche Tours

Katouche Valley, often called the "rainforest" of Anguilla, is an 80-acre estate that protects a unique and diverse ecosystem. Unlike the island's typical low scrub vegetation, Katouche Valley boasts towering trees and lush foliage. Hiking through this hidden gem offers visitors an unforgettable blend of adventure, cultural insights, and natural beauty. The valley is home to Cavannaugh Cave, a massive open cavern where a towering fig tree grows, its roots stretching almost a quarter of a mile along the cave's surface. The cave is also significant for the discovery of the 20,000-year-old remains of the now-extinct rodent, the "Amblirhyza Inundata," which weighed between 300-500 lbs. A partial fossil of this rodent is now displayed at the Smithsonian. For the more adventurous, Katouche Cave winds underground to a depth of approximately 180 feet. Guided tours provide insights into the medicinal and household uses of the island's native plants, showcasing how Anguillians have historically utilized the environment. The hike concludes at the breathtaking Katouche Bay, where you can savor refreshments and soak in Anguilla's beauty.
