Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From St. John's, take a local bus towards Jennings. Ask the driver to drop you off near the turnoff for Mount Obama Road, east of Urlings. From there, it's approximately a 1 kilometer walk to the trailhead. Bus fare is around EC$2. Be prepared for a wait, as buses may not be frequent.

  • Taxi

    Hire a taxi from St. John's to the Mount Obama trailhead. The journey takes about 15 minutes, depending on traffic. Arrange a pickup time with the driver, as taxis may not be readily available in the area. A one-way taxi fare is estimated to be between EC$40-EC$50.

  • Driving

    From St. John's, drive south along Valley Road until you reach the village of Jennings. Turn left at the bus stop onto a dirt track and continue for approximately 1 mile. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Park in the designated area before the metal gates and walk the remaining 300 meters to the trailhead.

Located in the southwestern part of Antigua within the Mount Obama National Park, it was formerly known as Boggy Peak until it was renamed in 2009 to commemorate Barack Obama's historic election. The name change was reverted in 2016.
