Public Transport
To reach Cades Peak via public transport, take a bus or minivan towards Old Road from a main hub such as St. John's. These "jitneys" are a cost-effective way to get around the island. Inform the driver you're going to Cades Peak or Old Road. The fare is approximately $2-3 EC (Eastern Caribbean dollars). From Old Road, it's about a 10-minute walk to the trailhead at coordinates 25P2+GP2. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips.
Walking
If you are already near Old Road, walking to Cades Peak is a viable option. From Fig Tree Drive, head south towards Old Road. Continue for approximately 1.5 miles (2.5 kilometers) until you reach the coordinates 25P2+GP2. The walk should take around 30-40 minutes. Wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Antigua, including at the airport and major hotels. A taxi from St. John's to Cades Peak will cost approximately $30-40 USD. Confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey, as fares are fixed but it's always good to double check. The taxi can drop you off directly at the trailhead near Old Road (25P2+GP2).
